The A/V Department is a Hamilton, Ontario based video production company which specializes in live concert video for artists, managers, record companies, and booking agents.

The A/V Department has also taped performances by Finger 11, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, Pilate, Amy Sky, and Sue Foley, as well as many others. Proprietor, Jerry Johansen is musician as well, and this experience gives The A/V Department an edge over other videographers when it comes to recording live music. Jerry Johansen is also a graduate of the Media Studies Department of Mohawk College with a major in Broadcast Journalism, and was trained in videography by former CBC camera man "Dave Cook".

The A/V Department uses a broadcast quality "3 chip" camera (Sony PD-150), which not only is used by several national network broadcasters for field production, but also records superior audio.

As a promotional offer exclusively to artists, The A/V Department is currently offering a special price on recording up to 40 minutes of footage digtally videotaped and then transferred to DVD. Ready for pick-up, pre-paid courier, or regular mail within one to twe weeks. Depending upon your schedule, The A/V Department can also do a rush service (additional fee) for the next business day.

The footage is then ready for promotional use and any additional editing you may wish to do in the future.

The A/V Department also offers post-production services to format your footage into a finished production for promotional use in your press kits, or as another revenue stream for your Merch. table, or for upload to you web page.

With a DVD of your best performances included in your press kits, you take the guesswork out of booking your act. Clients know exactly what they are purchasing. Booking contacts can easily see and hear your live performance in the comfort of their own environment.

If you would like more details, or to make arrangements to tape an upcoming date, please e-mail me at or leave a message at (905) 574 - 6520.

Please also provide an e-mail which can be printed for the sound tech crew indicating your permission for a direct feed from the board. Although The A/V Department gets great results from my ambient mic at the camera, the board signal (if clean) provides addiitional options for post production. Please also advise the venue in advance. Minimal stage lighting is also a requirement. Please advise if venue has no stage lighting and The A/V Department can provide additional lighting if necessary.
