my Favourite tragedy is a talented three-piece acoustic-influenced ensemble from the Ottawa area. After ending a very successful career with previous project Garrity, singer/songwriter North Easton formed my Favourite tragedy in 2009 as a way to cope with the death of his mother and to help create a lasting musical legacy for her. North’s intense vocal stylings have been compared to Dave Matthews, Phil Collins and Cat Stevens and complement perfectly with the dynamic rhythm section of brothers John-Marc and Philip Desmarais. No stranger to performing live, North has shared the stage with accomplished artists such as Great Big Sea, 54-40 and I Mother Earth. With a mixture of passionate storytelling, show-stopping moments and heartfelt melodies, a my Favourite tragedy concert is not one to be missed. my Favourite tragedy has just completed their exciting debut album, "A World of Quiet Talk", produced by multiple-Grammy winner Steve Thompson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna, John Lennon), listen for them soon on a stage or a radio near you.
