From the country that gave us Finger Eleven and Three Days Grace comes Canadian hard rock band Abandoned Souls. Hailing from London Ontario Canada, Abandoned Souls delivers their own brand of heavy rock to music fans young and old. Their newly released album Some Never Will is the highly anticipated follow up to their 2006 debut Circle of Shadows and is available world wide through Super D Distribution, CD-Baby and numerous digital download sites.
Abandoned Souls hit the ground running in 2006 and have not looked back since. Accolades at industry showcases like Toronto’s Canadian Music Week and Sarnia’s K106.3 Original Music Showcase solidified them as an emerging Canadian talent. This opened the door to numerous supporting roles for Canadian national acts Default, Thornley and The Salads. They were also featured in their hometown as the sole supporting act for the near legendary U.S. group King’s X. Industry nods continued with several London Music Award and Jack Richardson Award nominations as well as advancing to the 2007 Global Battle of the Bands Canadian finals. Abandoned Souls’ energetic music has been featured on several extreme sports video releases, including the Tahoe Films ‘Sled Heads’ series. The first two singles “She Rides” and “Violets”, from the Circle of Shadows album, have appeared on the top 10 lists of countless indie rock radio shows on the internet.
Abandoned Souls’ latest album Some Never Will continued where Circle of Shadows left off, by combining elements of modern radio-rock and early heavy metal influences. Powerful melodic vocals and heavy guitar riffs have become instinctive actions to these Southern Ontario boys, not conscious efforts. Subtle reminiscences of Black Sabbath, Godsmack and Disturbed appear amid modern gritty production in songs such as “Words of Wisdom”, “Faces” and “Some Never Will”. “We constantly try to push the envelope of creativity, yet write music that is true to ourselves,” explains bassist James Todd. “The latest album is definitely the next step in the evolution of Abandoned Souls”.
Abandoned Souls’ music is a release of emotion filled with hope and anger, questions and revelations, growth and everyday life. These are the emotions and experiences that bring people together and the pursuit of this is the inspiration behind Abandoned Souls.
