The Ion Plague

Metal

Barrie, Ontario, Canada
member since: May 6, 2008

Introduction

The Ion Plague was originally formed by Jeff and Chris S. in the fall of 2006 in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Originally Jeff was to be the drummer with Chris on guitar until they were introduced to Dan by a mutual friend later in 2007. It was quickly apparent that Dan was a more proficient drummer than Jeff so that decision made itself. At this point Jordan Burke joined on vocals in early 2007 and this line up stayed intact for a couple of months until Jordan parted ways with the band. The next vocalist, Colin Blanchard, joined in the spring of 2007 but left shortly there after for personal reasons. This is when Bryan Lake joined as a vocalist but soon after decided that he was better suited to play bass. In August of 2007 Chris Duffin joined on vocals. Originally the band was named Prion and played a handful of shows under this name in late 2007 and early 2008. Unfortunately, the name had to be changed to The Ion Plague in the spring of 2008 due to a conflict of interest. To date, the band has played with local acts Remain, Imperial Serpent, Sinister Trailerpark Magic and Beyond Haven, Canadian black metal act Wolven Ancestry and international act Raised Fist.
