Introduction

After years of honing his songwriting skills, George Birchall is stepping into the spotlight with his full length debut. Take one listen to George's music and you'll know you've found something unique - songs that swell, cower, rock, roll, each a work unto itself, saying to the audience "I'm right here".

George’s travels have taken him from the most rural of Ottawa Valley homes to the most urban of Toronto's coffeehouses, from the inspirational vistas of far-flung South East Asia and back to the solace of a self sufficient cabin in the woods. Drawing from these experiences, his songs contemplate the romance in the world around us, the dark winter nights, the frozen water pipes, and the individuals that drift in and out of our lives.

Stepping into the consciousness of discerning music lovers, George's latest offering is a rootsy folk-pop collection of self-aware Canadiana that shifts gears from exuberant campfire sing-alongs like “Down for the Count” and “Television” to the contemporary balladry of “Chopping Wood”.

From the stages of the world, to your living room stereo, “You are drawn in by his words. But it is his voice that wins you over…”
