Death of 8

Camlachie, Ontario, Canada
member since: Jun 6, 2004

An exciting new Canadian band, hailing from Sarnia, Ontario. These 5 players will rock the house with original music that show their love of true musicianship and the foundations of Rock 'n Roll. With their musical inspirations being so diverse as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Crowes, Eric Johnson, Lyle Lovett, and EmmyLou Harris, you can expect great Rock that is high energy, unique, and keeps you singing the songs long after they leave the stage. With their first single, titled 'Free', hitting radio, and their debut CD soon to be released, you can look forward to great things from death of 8.

death of 8 features Brian Doherty on lead guitar and harmonies, Bil Eldridge on rhythm guitar and vocals, Tony Zangolli on drums, Greg Davidson on bass, and Jaime Lee on mandolin and harmonies. Brian and Bil write all their own original songs, with Brian writing the music and Bil writing the lyrics. A dynamic team born of talent, experience, and a love of true Rock 'n Roll.

Brian Doherty, from Big Wreck fame, has had such musical accomplishments as being a graduate of the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, played with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and guitar-icon Eric Johnson. He signed to Atlantic Records and Warner Music Canada, released two internationally distributed CD's, achieved Double Platinum status in record sales, made seven music videos for MuchMusic and MTV, has been featured in Guitar Player Magazine, and has toured North America extensively.

Bil Eldridge was the former lead singer for 10 Seconds over Tokyo, as well as Laughing Sam's Breakdown, signed with Sony Music, worked with Frankie LaRocka (Bon Jovi, New York Dolls), Frank Aversa (Spin Doctors), managed by Punch Andrews (Kid Rock), played with Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience), and has written for Mike Stevens (Juno Award winner) and Roger Stevenson (Unified Theory). Bil has also extensively toured North America and Europe.

Tony Zangolli has built a name and a reputation for himself in southwestern Ontario and the Detroit area playing with the 9 House Band for the last four years, previously recorded with Little Wingz, and has opened for such artists as David Lee Roth, Nickelback, Big Wreck, George Thoroughgood, and the Beach Boys.

Greg Davidson was the former bass player for the Mercury Men from Toronto, releasing three independent CD's, recorded in New York City with Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth), toured with Rage Against the Machine, Mike Watt, and is also experienced touring across North America.

Jaime Lee has been singing professionally for eight years, and toured major world cities with her Shania Twain impersonation act. Jaime's performances on her tour included Hawaii, Brazil at the 3rd largest Rodeo in the world, the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and performed in the 'Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth' in the Grand Stand Show at the Calgary Stampede. Jaime was able to perfect her instrumentation with guitars and mandolin in her experience touring with a Dixie Chicks cover band.
