Sound gear and rheostats

I would be interested to hear if other artists occasionally incur minor, annoying "hums" and "buzzes" from the electrical/lighting systems of various venues. If so, do you have proposed solutions?

Live Music Opportunities

As artists and performers, we can become a little more innovative and visionary to create new live performance venues!!

There are "potential" performance venues out there but we need to help these establishment take the next steps.

Comments please???

microphones

Hey there fellow artists. I would welcome your recommendations for the best vocal mic to use with a Peavey system. (400 Watts, with 2 PR 12 Speakers) Venue size varies from 400 sqft.to 2000 sqft. and usually indoors.
Currently using either an AKG low impedance or Audio Technica.
I am thinking of upgrading to something in the $400.00 to $600.00 range.

Nashville Tuning

Has anyone tried out Nashville Tuning for live performances? If so, what did you like about it? Did you have another flat top with standard stringing?

Is small venue live music becoming more popular??

I can remember when even the smallest clubs proudly advertised live music every Friday and Saturday night. Lately, I have noticed a few more coming back onboard to support local artists/musicians. I am quite convinced that a fairly large number of people with "disposable income" are looking for enjoyable, well-run venues where they can spend an evening listening to good music. Comments and insights would be welcome!!
